CC Fisher - Coach, Competitor, Champion
When you ask someone in the wrestling community if they know CC
Fisher you can almost guarantee that you will get a resounding “YES”.
If you ask them how they know CC Fisher you can almost guarantee
that you will get a different answer from every person. Some will
say friend, some will say mentor, some will say opponent and others
will say coach.
Dan Collins refers to CC as the wrestling “Monk” who
embodies all there is about wrestling and spreading wrestling “good
will” where ever he roams. Others will tell you that he has
made them mad, that he is aggressive, that he can be stubborn and
when he thinks he is right there is no changing his mind. But ask
one of his young wrestlers about CC Fisher and you will get something
along the lines of “best coach I ever had” or “most
effective coach ever.”
CC as a coach, is like the Pied Piper or the wrestling whisperer.
Young wrestlers of all ages and skill levels flock to him
and settle around him like the calm after a storm. He is
gentle but firm, diligent but not over evident. Undeniably
kids do better in wrestling, in school and in life when they
work with him.
CC Fisher is undeniably one of the most dynamic light weight
wrestlers to watch. He is known for his explosive movements
and quickness that is often considered unparalleled. He is
quietly aggressive and strategic. It his humorous to see
the stunned look on his opponents face after tangling with
him for the first time. He can move so fast that they are
not sure what has happened. Today, CC is training for a bid
for the 2008 Olympics while continuing to pursue Coaching
in many venues.
